The WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office has published its 2025 Digital Health Progress Report, and Looms features as a case study in patient-empowering health record innovation. The report highlights the platform's impact on patient engagement and record access in a region where digital health infrastructure has historically lagged behind demand.

What the report says

The WHO EMRO report cites Looms' approach to patient-held records as a model for how the region can address healthcare fragmentation without requiring large-scale government infrastructure investment. The platform is noted specifically for its verification system, AI accessibility features and multilingual design.

The report includes data from a WHO EMRO-commissioned survey of 2,000 Looms users across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, showing that 78% felt they understood their health records better after using the platform's AI analysis features.

Our response

"Being cited by WHO EMRO is meaningful to us — not because of the recognition, but because it reflects that what we're building aligns with what the region's public health experts believe patients need," said Dr. Lina Haddad, Looms Chief Medical Officer. "We take that alignment seriously and will continue to engage with WHO EMRO on the digital health challenges specific to this region."
