A QR-verified document is only trustworthy if the institution that issued it is trustworthy. Any clinic could issue a document through Looms — which is why we've built the Verified Issuer Programme to distinguish medical centers that have passed a formal review process from those that haven't.
What verification involves
To become a Verified Issuer, a medical center submits documentation confirming their legal registration as a healthcare provider, the qualifications of their medical staff and their compliance with the health regulations of their operating jurisdiction. Looms reviews this documentation and conducts a follow-up verification call with the clinic's registered medical director.
Verified Issuer status is renewed annually, with ongoing compliance monitoring for any regulatory changes.
What it means for patients
Documents issued by Verified Issuers carry an additional 'Verified Issuer' badge visible when the QR code is scanned. Patients can check the verification status of any clinic on their Looms profile. When sharing a document with an employer, insurance company or another healthcare provider, the Verified Issuer badge provides a higher level of assurance about the document's provenance.
Applying for verification
Clinics currently on the Looms platform can apply for Verified Issuer status from the clinic settings panel. The review process takes five to ten business days. Verified Issuer status is available at no additional cost.
