A radiology report is one of the most difficult medical documents for a patient to interpret. Phrases like 'mild periventricular white matter changes' or 'no acute cardiopulmonary process' are clinical shorthand that carry significant meaning — but are opaque without a medical background. Ask Looms now reads those reports and explains them.

What the analysis covers

The AI reads the full text of an uploaded radiology report and produces a structured plain-language summary covering the key findings, what each finding typically means in clinical context and which findings, if any, are flagged as requiring prompt follow-up.

The analysis covers MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound and PET scan reports across all major body regions and organ systems.

Accuracy and limitations

The AI analysis is generated from the text of the report, not the underlying images. It reads what the radiologist wrote and translates it — it does not independently interpret the scan. The summary includes a clear note that all findings should be discussed with the ordering physician before any clinical decisions are made.

Accessing the analysis

Upload any radiology report PDF or image to the Records section of your Looms account. Once uploaded, tap 'Analyse with AI' to receive your plain-language summary. Analysis is typically ready within 30 seconds.
