Who has access to your health records? On most digital health platforms, the answer is determined by the platform — patients have limited visibility and even less control. In Looms, the answer is determined by you. The consent management system gives patients granular, real-time control over which providers can access which records.

How consent works

When you connect with a clinic in Looms, you approve the connection. That approval grants the clinic access to your health profile at the level you configure — full access, access to specific record categories or access to records from a specific time period.

You can review and change these settings at any time from the Connected Clinics section of your account. Changes take effect immediately — a clinic whose access you restrict will see the reduced access within seconds.

Consent for research

Looms uses anonymised, aggregate data from patient interactions to improve the platform and to support health research partnerships. Consent for this data use is separate from clinical access consent and is managed independently in your privacy settings. You can opt out of research data use at any time without affecting your clinical sharing settings.

Consent audit log

Every consent decision you make — granting access, restricting access, revoking access — is recorded in your consent history. You can view the full log from your privacy settings, including the date, time and the specific access change recorded.
