Looms has closed a $4.5 million seed round, led by a UAE-based venture firm with participation from a GCC healthcare-focused fund and three angel investors with backgrounds in hospital management and health policy. The funding will be used to accelerate product development, expand the clinic partnership team and fund regulatory preparation for expansion beyond the UAE.
What we're building with it
The seed round funds three immediate priorities: hiring the engineering and clinical product team to build the full platform roadmap, establishing the legal and regulatory infrastructure for Saudi Arabia and Kuwait market entry, and building the clinic partnership operation that will take us from 40 to 200 clinics over the next eighteen months.
Why these investors
We were selective. Every investor in this round has deep roots in the GCC healthcare system. Their network access — to hospital groups, health ministries and insurance providers — is as valuable as the capital. We needed partners who understand the complexity of regional healthcare, not just the size of the market opportunity.
Patients always come first
Looms will remain free for individual patients. The business model is clinic-based — we charge clinics for the tools they use to manage care and communicate with patients. This alignment matters: our revenue depends on clinics offering a product that patients genuinely value.
