Every document issued through the Looms platform now carries a unique QR code. Scan it with any device, and you're taken to a verified view of the document — confirming it is authentic, unaltered and issued by the medical center named on the document. No login required. No special software required. It takes three seconds.
Why QR verification matters
Document fraud in the GCC healthcare system is a recognised problem. Prescriptions are altered. Lab results are fabricated for employment purposes. Sick leave certificates are produced without a doctor's knowledge. QR verification doesn't eliminate fraud — but it makes fraud at the document level immediately detectable.
For employers verifying sick leave, for pharmacists verifying prescriptions and for providers verifying referred patients' records, the ability to confirm authenticity in three seconds is transformative.
What gets verified
The verification endpoint confirms that the document exists in the Looms system, was issued by the identified medical center, has not been modified since issuance, and (for prescriptions) whether it has been fully or partially dispensed.
For patient privacy
The verification endpoint returns confirmation of authenticity only — it does not expose the full document contents to an unauthenticated viewer. Document content is only visible to the patient and to authorised providers in their Looms network.
