Understanding your health should not require a medical degree or an expensive consultation. The Looms Public Health Library is a free, open-access resource built for patients — covering the conditions, medications, lab tests, allergies and diagnostic tools that patients encounter most in the GCC healthcare system.
What the library covers
The library is organised into four sections:
- Lab test reference: plain-language explanations of over 200 common blood and urine test markers, covering what each measures, normal reference ranges and what results above or below range typically indicate
- Medication guide: dosing information, common uses, side effects and important interactions for the 80 most commonly prescribed medications in the GCC
- Allergy library: information on over 30 major allergy types, symptom profiles, risk factors and management approaches
- Condition guides: evidence-based overviews of the 50 most prevalent chronic and acute conditions managed in GCC primary care
No account needed
The entire library is publicly accessible without a Looms account. Information is reviewed by the Looms clinical advisory board and updated on a rolling basis as clinical guidelines change.
Editorial standards
Every article in the library cites the clinical guidelines and evidence it draws on. We do not produce content for SEO — we produce it for patients who are looking for reliable health information in a region where that is still too hard to find.
