The GCC is one of the most linguistically diverse healthcare markets in the world. The UAE alone has a population where over 60% of residents speak a first language other than Arabic or English. A health platform that only serves Arabic and English speakers is a platform that excludes a large portion of the people it could help. We're committed to changing that.

The target languages

By Q4 2025, Looms will support Arabic, English, Hindi and Urdu — the four most spoken languages among GCC healthcare users. Each language will receive full platform support: not just translated labels, but culturally appropriate date formats, number conventions, right-to-left layout for Arabic and clinical terminology reviewed by native-speaking medical professionals.

Translation quality

Machine translation is not good enough for health information. We are working with professional translators who have medical backgrounds, supplemented by review from our clinical advisory board members in each language. Every string on the platform goes through a three-step review process before it reaches production.

Your language preference

When the new language options become available, you will be able to set your preferred language in account settings. Your preference will apply across all devices and all communications from Looms — notifications, emails, appointment confirmations and document templates.
