Looms has signed a multi-year research partnership with a UAE university's School of Public Health. The partnership will use anonymised, consent-based data from the Looms platform to study how access to digital health records changes patient behaviour — with a particular focus on preventive care uptake, medication adherence and chronic disease management.
Research priorities
The inaugural research programme will address three questions that are particularly relevant to the GCC health context:
- Does digital access to lab results increase a patient's likelihood of seeking follow-up care?
- How does medication reminder technology affect long-term adherence in patients with Type 2 diabetes and hypertension?
- What is the relationship between digital health engagement and emergency department utilisation?
Data privacy
All research data is derived from anonymised records, with individual patient identifiers removed before any analysis. No personally identifiable data is shared with the research institution. Patient consent for anonymised research data use is captured at account creation and can be withdrawn at any time in account settings.
Publishing findings
All research findings will be published in peer-reviewed journals and made freely available on the Looms website. We believe that the insights generated by this platform should benefit the entire healthcare community — not just Looms.
