Arabic-speaking patients make up the largest single language group on the Looms platform — and they engage with the platform differently from English-speaking users in ways that have shaped our product decisions throughout 2025. This analysis draws on anonymised engagement data from 200,000 Arabic-speaking users.
Record upload frequency
Arabic-speaking patients upload records at a 23% higher frequency than English-speaking patients with similar health profiles. The most common record types uploaded are lab results, radiology reports and discharge summaries — consistent with a pattern of wanting to consolidate records that have been received in paper form from multiple providers.
AI feature engagement
Engagement with AI analysis features is 31% higher among Arabic-speaking users, and the most common use is lab result analysis rather than health recommendations — suggesting that Arabic-speaking patients are primarily seeking help understanding test results rather than lifestyle guidance.
Qualitative feedback from Arabic-speaking users consistently highlights the value of having complex medical information explained in their first language, without relying on a family member to translate.
Appointment booking patterns
Arabic-speaking patients book through the app at a higher rate but show a stronger preference for doctor-specific booking — selecting a named doctor rather than the next available appointment. This preference has informed our Arabic-language booking interface, which now prominently features doctor profiles and credentials.
