Running out of a medication mid-clinic, discovering that a supply of consumables wasn't ordered in time, realising that equipment went out for service without anyone tracking it — these are not dramatic failures, but they are the kind of operational friction that accumulates into real cost and poor patient experience. Clinic Inventory Management in Looms is designed to prevent them.
What you can track
The inventory module handles three categories of clinic stock: medications (with batch number, expiry date and reorder point), consumable supplies (gloves, syringes, dressings) and equipment (with service history and next service date).
Each item has a configurable low-stock threshold. When stock falls below the threshold, the relevant staff member receives an automatic alert.
Stock movements
Every stock movement is logged — receipts from suppliers, dispensing to patients and adjustments for waste or expiry. The movement log creates an auditable record that clinic administrators can review and export for procurement and compliance purposes.
Integration with prescriptions
For clinics that dispense medications in-house, inventory is automatically decremented when a prescription is issued and marked as dispensed. This keeps stock counts accurate without requiring manual entry by clinic staff.
