Rejected insurance claims are one of the biggest sources of administrative friction for GCC clinics — and one of the most frustrating experiences for patients who believed their treatment was covered. Looms Insurance Eligibility Checks bring a verification step into the appointment booking flow, before the patient arrives.
How eligibility checking works
When a patient books an appointment at a connected clinic, the system submits an eligibility inquiry to the patient's registered insurance provider. The response — covered, not covered, requires pre-authorisation or coverage details unavailable — is returned within seconds and displayed to both the clinic administrator and the patient.
If coverage is confirmed, the appointment proceeds. If not, the clinic can contact the patient before the appointment to discuss payment alternatives — avoiding the awkward and counterproductive conversation at the point of service.
Supported providers
At launch, eligibility checking is available for the ten largest insurance providers operating in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Coverage is expanding continuously — the full list of supported providers is available in the clinic settings panel.
Pre-authorisation tracking
For treatments requiring pre-authorisation, the clinic can submit the authorisation request directly from the patient's appointment record. The status of pending authorisations is tracked in the Finance section, with automatic notifications when a decision is received.
