The gap between a prescription being issued and a patient collecting their medication is one of the most friction-filled moments in healthcare. Phone calls to verify authenticity, handwritten notes deciphered by busy pharmacists, paper lost between clinic and pharmacy — these are not edge cases. They are routine. The Looms pharmacy network integration is designed to eliminate them.

How it works

When a doctor issues a prescription through Looms, the patient receives it instantly in their app. At the pharmacy, the patient presents a QR code — from the app or a printed copy — and the pharmacist scans it to retrieve the verified prescription in real time. The scan confirms authenticity, checks that the prescription has not already been fully dispensed and records the dispensing event.

Which pharmacies are connected

At launch, the integration covers over 1,200 pharmacy locations across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, including the UAE's three largest pharmacy chains and the leading national pharmacy group in KSA. Additional pharmacy networks in Kuwait and Qatar are in integration testing and will join the network in the coming months.

For clinic partners

Clinic administrators can see which prescriptions have been dispensed, when and at which pharmacy — all visible in the prescription management section without any additional steps. This dispensing data can be used to prompt refill reminders and to flag patients who have been issued a prescription but have not yet collected it.
