The relationship between a patient and their healthcare provider depends on communication — and yet that communication has always been poorly served. Phone calls go unanswered, emails go to generic inboxes, WhatsApp messages mix clinical questions with birthday messages. Looms Care Messaging is a dedicated, encrypted channel built specifically for patient-provider communication.
How it works
Care Messaging creates a persistent thread between you and each clinic you're connected to in Looms. Messages are end-to-end encrypted and linked to your patient file, so any staff member responding can see your relevant history without asking you to repeat it.
You can attach photos, documents and records to any message — useful for sending a wound photo to a nurse, sharing a blood glucose log with your GP or forwarding a specialist letter to your referring doctor.
For clinic staff
Clinic administrators can assign incoming messages to specific staff members, set response time expectations and mark messages as resolved once handled. The messaging inbox is separate from the appointment calendar but linked, so urgent messages can be escalated to a same-day booking if needed.
What Care Messaging is not
Care Messaging is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number. The platform includes a clear disclaimer in every message thread and allows clinics to configure automated out-of-hours responses directing patients to appropriate urgent care.
