Arabian Business magazine ran a feature this week on the transformation of patient experience in the Gulf — and Looms featured prominently. The piece, 'The Records Revolution', examines how digital health platforms are changing the relationship between patients and their healthcare providers across the region.

Patient voices

The article features interviews with six Looms patients across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Their accounts of what it means to have their records in one place are worth reading in full, but a few moments stand out:

A Dubai-based patient with Type 2 diabetes describes showing her doctor a six-month glucose trend chart at her annual review for the first time. 'He told me it was the most useful thing a patient had ever brought to an appointment.' A Riyadh-based patient describes arriving at a new specialist in a city three hours from home, and being able to share her complete record in the waiting room.

Clinic owner perspective

The article also quotes two Looms clinic owners. Both describe the same shift: patients who use Looms come to appointments better prepared, ask more specific questions and are more likely to follow through on follow-up actions. 'The platform changes the conversation in the consulting room,' one says.
