Physiotherapy courses. Dialysis schedules. Wound care programmes. Chemotherapy cycles. Many of the most important clinical interventions require not one appointment but a structured series of them. Booking these one by one is time-consuming for clinic staff and creates gaps when a patient misses a single booking in the sequence. Recurring Appointment Series in Looms solves both problems.
Setting up a series
From the appointment booking interface, clinic staff select 'Book as series', define the number of sessions, the interval between them and the doctor or therapist for the course. Looms displays real-time availability across the full series and flags any dates with conflicts before the series is confirmed.
The entire series is confirmed in one step — no need to book session by session.
Managing a series
If a patient needs to reschedule one session, the rescheduling can be applied to that session alone or to all subsequent sessions in the series. Cancelling one session does not automatically cancel the rest. The full series is visible in both the patient's and the clinic's appointment views, making it easy to track attendance and progress.
Patient notifications
Patients receive a confirmation of the full series at booking, and individual appointment reminders 24 hours and two hours before each session. After each session, a brief check-in prompt can be configured to capture patient-reported progress — data that feeds into the Reporting section.
