On the Looms mobile app, you can book an appointment by describing what you need using your voice. Looms interprets the spoken request, identifies the most relevant medical center and available slot, and presents you with a booking to confirm.
Voice booking is an advisory assistant — it suggests a match and presents it for your approval. It never books without your confirmation.
How to use voice booking
- Open the Looms mobile app and go to Appointments
- Tap the microphone icon near the search bar
- Speak your request clearly — for example: 'I need a GP appointment at City Clinic next Tuesday morning'
- Wait for Looms to process your request (typically 2–4 seconds)
- Review the suggested match — center, date, time and provider
- Tap Confirm to complete the booking, or adjust the details manually
What to say for best results
Voice booking works best when you include the center name (or a recognizable part of it), a day or time preference, and the type of appointment. Example: 'Book a follow-up at Sunrise Clinic for Thursday afternoon.'
You don't need to be precise — Looms will map your request to the closest matching available slot and show you what it found before confirming anything.
How Looms interprets the request
Voice input is transcribed and then analyzed to extract: the center name (matched against centers you follow), the appointment type (GP, specialist, lab, etc.) and a time preference. These are mapped to real available slots using the center's actual availability in Looms.
The matching is advisory — Looms tells you what it found and why. You remain in control of the final booking.
When voice booking isn't available
Voice booking requires a microphone permission on your device. If you haven't granted it, Looms will prompt you to do so in Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
Voice booking is available for centers you follow that have active availability windows in Looms. If a center hasn't set up their scheduling in Looms, the match will default to requesting an appointment rather than completing a confirmed booking.
