Ask Looms is an AI health assistant that answers plain-language questions about your medical records. Unlike a general AI tool, it knows your specific records — lab results, prescriptions, reports and more — and answers in the context of your actual health data.
How to start a conversation
Find Ask Looms in the sidebar (web) or the More tab (mobile). Type your question in plain language — you don't need to use medical terminology. Looms reads your relevant records and responds with a contextual answer.
What you can ask
- Explanations of a specific result: 'What does my ferritin level of 14 mean?'
- Trends: 'Has my cholesterol been improving over the past year?'
- Medication questions: 'What are the main side effects of the medication I was just prescribed?'
- Condition information: 'What does hypothyroidism involve?'
- Preparation help: 'What should I mention at my cardiology appointment next week?'
Evidence-based answers
For clinical questions, Ask Looms draws on MediSearch — a database of peer-reviewed medical literature. When it does, source citations appear at the end of the response so you can see what the answer is based on. These sources are published research, not general-purpose web content.
What Ask Looms can't do
Ask Looms is an informational tool, not a clinician. It cannot diagnose a condition, prescribe medication or replace a medical consultation. When a question falls outside what it can responsibly answer, it will say so and suggest consulting your doctor.
Never use Ask Looms to make an urgent medical decision. If you're experiencing a medical emergency, call emergency services.
Privacy
Conversations with Ask Looms are private to your account. Your health data is only used to answer your specific question and is not shared with third parties or used for advertising.
