Looms supports syncing data from wearable devices and fitness trackers so that activity, heart rate, sleep and other metrics flow into your health record automatically. Synced data appears in your Vitals Journal with a source badge indicating it came from a connected device rather than a manual entry.

Supported device types

Looms can receive data from a range of connected devices, including:

  • Fitness trackers and smartwatches (step count, heart rate, active minutes)
  • Smart scales (weight, BMI)
  • Blood pressure monitors (systolic, diastolic, pulse)
  • Continuous glucose monitors, where integration is available
  • Sleep trackers (sleep duration and basic sleep quality metrics)

How to connect a device

  • Open Settings and tap Connected Devices
  • Choose your device type or platform (for example, a fitness platform that aggregates data from your wearable)
  • Authorize the connection — Looms will request read access to the health data you choose to share
  • Once connected, data syncs automatically on a schedule; you can also trigger a manual sync from the Connected Devices screen

What data syncs and how it appears

Synced data appears in the Vitals Journal alongside your manually entered readings. Each synced entry shows a small device badge so you can distinguish it from values you've entered yourself. You can tap any reading to see its source.

Device-synced data is advisory — it enriches your record but is clearly labelled as coming from a consumer device rather than clinical measurement. When sharing records with a healthcare provider, they'll see the source badge too.

Reviewing and disconnecting

To review what a connected device is sharing, go to Settings > Connected Devices and tap the device name. You'll see which data types are enabled. Toggle individual types off if you don't want them to sync.

To disconnect a device entirely, tap Disconnect. This stops future syncs but does not delete historical data already in your record.
