Sick leave notes, fit-for-work certificates, fitness-to-fly letters and similar employment health documents are a distinct category in Looms. They live in your records as patient self-uploads — separate from documents issued directly by a clinic, which carry a verified badge and QR code.
How to upload
- Go to My Records and tap Upload
- Choose or photograph the document (PDF, JPEG or PNG)
- When prompted for a record type, select Sick Leave, Work Certificate or the most appropriate category
- Add the issuing clinic, date and any notes that help you identify it later
- Tap Save
Where it appears
Uploaded sick leave documents appear in My Records, labelled with their type. They are in a separate 'Uploaded documents' section from clinic-issued records, making it easy to see at a glance which documents have been verified by a provider and which you've added yourself.
Self-uploaded vs clinic-issued
A document you upload yourself is not the same as one issued through Looms by a medical center. Self-uploaded documents carry no verified badge and no QR code — they are simply copies stored in your account.
If an employer or insurer needs a verifiable document, they need one issued by a clinic through Looms (or directly from the clinic itself). Uploading a scan of a paper sick note does not make it verifiable through Looms.
Who can see your uploaded documents
Only you can see your uploaded documents by default. They are not visible to clinics you follow unless you explicitly share them. You can share a specific document via a secure link from the record detail screen.
