Setting a strong password and keeping your account secure

Your Looms account holds some of the most sensitive information about you and the people you care for. A few straightforward habits keep it protected — and they start with your password.

Choose a strong, unique password

  • Make it long — a memorable phrase of several words beats a short complex string
  • Don't reuse a password from another site
  • Avoid obvious choices like names, birthdays or common words
  • Consider a password manager to store a strong, unique one

Keep your account to yourself

Don't share your login. If a family member needs to see certain records, use Looms' sharing features to give them access to just those items rather than handing over your account. That way you can see and revoke access whenever you like.

Watch where you're signed in

You can review active sessions in Settings and sign out any device you don't recognise or no longer use. Changing your password signs you out everywhere at once — a quick way to lock things down if you're ever unsure.

Sign out on shared devices

If you check your records on a shared or public computer, always sign out when you're done rather than just closing the tab. And be alert to phishing: Looms will never ask for your password by email, so don't enter it on a page you reached from an unexpected link.
