Preventive care — regular screenings, vaccinations and check-ups — is one of the most effective ways to catch problems early. Looms generates personalised screening reminders based on your age, sex and health profile, and tracks which ones you've completed.

What screening reminders cover

  • Blood pressure check — annually for adults over 18
  • Cholesterol test — every 4–6 years, or more frequently if values were previously borderline
  • Blood glucose / diabetes screening — every 3 years from age 45, or earlier with risk factors
  • Colorectal cancer screening — from age 45–50 depending on local guidelines
  • Cervical screening — every 3–5 years depending on age and country
  • Mammogram — every 1–2 years from age 40–50 depending on guidelines
  • Eye exam, dental check-up, skin check — annually
  • Vaccinations — flu shot, shingles, pneumonia and any others on your vaccine history

Marking a screening as done

When you complete a screening — whether the record is issued by a clinic or uploaded by you — Looms detects the relevant document type and updates the reminder automatically. You can also mark a reminder as done manually from the Screening Reminders section.

Customising your reminders

If your doctor has given you a different schedule (more frequent cholesterol checks due to elevated values, for example), you can adjust the reminder interval in Settings. Turn off any reminders that don't apply to you.
