The Vitals Journal in Looms lets you log blood pressure readings from your home monitor. Each reading is dated and charted alongside previous readings so you and your doctor can see trends over time.

How to log a reading

  • Open Vitals Journal and tap + New reading
  • Select Blood pressure
  • Enter systolic and diastolic values and pulse rate
  • Add the date and time — readings default to now but can be backdated
  • Add a note if the reading was taken in unusual circumstances (after exercise, with a headache, etc.)
  • Save

Reading tips for accuracy

  • Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measuring
  • Keep your arm at heart level, supported on a surface
  • Take two readings one minute apart and log the average
  • Measure at the same time each day for consistent comparison
  • Avoid caffeine, exercise and smoking for 30 minutes beforehand
