Managing prescriptions for a family member

Managing medications for a family member — particularly a child or elderly parent — is one of the most common uses of the Family Hub. Here's how prescriptions and reminders work for family profiles.

Viewing a family member's prescriptions

Open Family Hub → [family member] → Prescriptions. You'll see all prescriptions uploaded or issued to their profile. Prescriptions issued by connected centres through Looms appear automatically. Prescriptions from other providers can be uploaded manually as a record.

Setting up dose reminders

  • Open the prescription and tap Set reminder
  • Enter the dose times — these are separate from your own medication reminders
  • Reminders appear in your notification feed labelled with the family member's name so you don't confuse them with your own
  • Tap Mark as given when the dose is administered — this builds a dose log for the family member

Tracking refills

Each prescription shows the number of repeats remaining if the centre has specified this. When a prescription is approaching expiry or running out of repeats, Looms generates a reminder so you can arrange a review appointment in time.
